Wednesday, November 25, 2009 Food for thought. Humans are interesting creatures. When they are happy, when they are excited, when they are under pressure. Its fascinating to watch how they behave, its almost like an art actually. We humans are the greatest, most accomplished at lying to ourselves,to our friends and family In fact,on a daily basis we tell lies. Why so? Is it because all humans want to hide things from their fellow homo sapiens? No, I'd rather think its because we all, at some point or another, are afraid to speak what is truly in our hearts. Because we are afraid that what we say might have an adverse effect on the people we care about. So we lie,to avoid breaking trust, friendships and marriages. Could you really blame us? We all make mistakes. That's the definition of being a human, and we naturally don't want to lose respect or love in the eyes of others,so we seek to gloss over these errors by trying to fabricate or amend the truth to suit our purposes. And we,by nature require companionship. It is infinitely harder to survive by yourself, than in a pack. After all, we're not wolves. So we try to live with our friends and partner's faults, hoping fruitlessly that they will change for the better,to help themselves. And more importantly to make us happy. We humans indeed are a complicated lot. Animals just get together to mate, reproduce and survive. yes, I agree that there are intricate bindings in certain species, but to generalise, animals have little or no emotions. Rather they operate almost entirely on needs and instincts, drinking water when thirsty, eating when hungry, fighting when provoked. Humans on the other hand, have the twin abilities of logic and reasoning, yet when it comes to matters of the heart, amazing we unconsciously switch both processes off. We can do so much for the one we "love", yet when we look back, we seem to realise how much time, money and effort was wasted in pursuit for that person. Why did I put the word "love" in ""? Because love, indeed is a very very broad term. What is love? Love for oneself, Love for money,Love for one's ego,Love for one's sport,Love for one's partner,Love for the world,Love for one's friends and family, just to name a few. So this was the thoughts running thru my mind just 15mins ago. Dont expect you guys to really understand what I'm saying, but all the same, thanks for reading:) Darmuis blogged at 7:47 PM
